Welcome to The Willow Tree Farm

I am a model horse collector (such as Breyer or Peter Stone)
& I love to "show" my models in on-line shows.

Darcy photo shoot

It's a cloudy day this morning...perfect for taking model horse pictures! Than the sun was playing tag with me, it kept going in & out of the clouds as the morning went on, so that was more of a challenge.  Still, I got some good shots in.

I try not to think about the fact that I had to sale my studio lights a few months ago.  I really could have used them for my model horses.  Probably one of the more painful things I had to do at the time but it needed to be done.

Okie-dokie, here's my fabulously new Mr. Darcy I got yesterday.  He is a Breyer original #1276 Harmonie.

& a couple of other shots I took of some of my other models.  Sorry for the backdrop, I was on a time crunch with the sun so I had no time to iron the sheet out.
This is the LB Dahlia AR, sculpted by Candace Liddy.  For the life of my I can't remember who painted it, I'm sure I have that info tucked & packed away in my files somewhere.

One of the last resins I got before leaving the hobby so I've never had a chance to show him.  Super excited about getting him in the show rings.  This is the Rabbani AR, sculpted by Trish Forsyth.  Again the painters name eludes me, I'm sure I have it written down somewhere.  This fellow still needs a show name!

Adorable AR foal I picked up from Resins by Randy, I believe they painted her too.  Gorgeous bay going grey foal, she has yet to be shown as well.  This resin is called, Merry Foal, sculpted by Carol Howard.

Oh my goodness! Looking up these resin names I'm seeing all the resins I've missed during my absence! Aah! Gorgeous! Tabatha's Elnathan (first & second version), breathtaking! Saoirse Resin! Sighs....
I'm also very excited about Resins by Randy's mini resins (which in other words means affordable), the Mini Crusher, and the reworked mini Haggis & Crusher resins for $80! As an added bonus, the money from these resins will go towards saving and taking care of rescued horses.  How cool is that?!

Returning to an old love

After about 5 years of absence from the model horse hobby...I have returned.

Dusting off my old models (which are surprisingly in good shape after moving across country 3 times...especially my resins!) & picking up some new ones.  In fact, today I picked up my first Breyer since leaving the hobby, #1276 Harmonie, a gorgeous bay I've named Darcy.  I got him at an amazing deal of $22, originally $45! I'll try to take some photos of him tomorrow.

Also, trying to get my models into some sort of organization, setting up an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of them better.  I well remembered how quick & easy they can turn into a mess!

Here are some photos I took yesterday of my very fragile & most expensive stablemate, Alassiel...still in tact! She is the Scheherazade AR (or Jinni resin) sculpted by Debbie LerMond & painted by the ever so talented, Kate Shick. It was my first time setting up my models for a photo shoot in a long, long time.
